Discussions: The way medical students learn is different from the general population. 32 % of the students that participated at this study are from UMF Craiova, 32% from UMF Carol Davila, 11% University of Medicine T Popa, Iasi, 9% UMF Cluj Iulius Hatieganu. According to this study the distribution of the learning styles is as following: 33% visual, 26% auditory, 14% kinesthetic, 12% visual and auditory styles equally, 6% visual and kinesthetic, 4% auditory and kinesthetic and 5% all three styles. Results: We determined that 73% of the students prefer one learning style, 22% prefer to learn using equally two learning style, while the rest prefer three learning styles. Subjects and methods: In this study, a number of 230 medical students were questioned in order to determine their learning style. There is no evidence that teaching according to the learning style can help a person, yet this cannot be ignored. According to Fleming and Mills the learning styles can be classified in Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic. While some prefer listening to learn better, others need to write or they only need to read the text or see a picture to later remember. Reading and writing learner: Learns best via the written word.Background: The term “learning style” refers to the fact that each person has a different way of accumulating knowledge.Kinesthetic learner (or tactical learner): Learns best via real-life examples and “doing” experiences.Visual learner: Learns best via sight including graphics, charts, and pictures.If some of or all of this doesn’t sound right, your child might have one of these learning preferences: Playing songs with lyrics that are fun for your child to learn and memorize at home or in the car.Buying clothes that allow them to dress up or simulate the real world, like play household items, stuffed animals, dolls, or other props as well as musical instruments or rhythm makers.Encouraging them to engage in imaginary play or put on a performance.Asking them questions about their thoughts and the world.Learning a foreign language together (or if you speak one, teaching it to them as you engage in household tasks).Reading the instructions for a recipe to them as they cook.Listening to the radio, an audiobook, or a podcast together.Playing games like charades, Celebrity, Taboo, Two Truths and a Lie, Simon Says, Word Association, I Spy, or 20 Questions.Reading aloud to them, or listening as they read aloud to you.Repeating feedback about household participation, cooperation, and behavior several times, or approaching chores as a conversation rather than a list or chart.To help your auditory learner be as successful as possible and avoid the frustration of trying to get them to love a task they’re not naturally suited to, try: Learn Mandarin with Outschool’s live online classes Explore classes How to engage your auditory learner at home Have a good memory for names, details, and snippets of conversations.
