Kefir is drinkable yogurt that has tons of health benefits and millions of live probiotics. It's a super simple and amazing device that turns a jug of milk into kefir overnight. My mom then introduced me to Merrick, the inventor of the Probiotic Maker. We walked through her back door and right into her kitchen where I saw tall man was standing next to a counter full of milk jugs. Neither of us knew what was going on, but my mom’s excitement trumped any uncomfortable or awkward feeling. It had been a long time since I'd seen my mom so excited, so I was genuinely curious. Then she grabbed my hand led me to her house next door. ![]() One day last year, my mom busted through my front door and started excitedly rambling about this amazing device that makes yogurt and she knows the inventor and I need to come see it right away. ![]()

![]() ![]() Anderson Company of Cleveland, Ohio, acquired the rights to the tape in 1950. Īfter the war, the duck tape product was sold in hardware stores for household repairs. This tape, colored in army-standard matte olive drab, was widely used by the soldiers. It was easy to apply and remove, and was soon adapted to repair military equipment quickly, including vehicles and weapons. Their new unnamed product was made of thin cotton duck coated in waterproof polyethylene (plastic) with a layer of rubber-based gray adhesive (branded as "Polycoat") bonded to one side. The Revolite division of Johnson & Johnson had made medical adhesive tapes from duck cloth from 1927 and a team headed by Revolite's Johnny Denoye and Johnson & Johnson's Bill Gross developed the new adhesive tape, designed to be ripped by hand, not cut with scissors. The letter was forwarded to the War Production Board, which put Johnson & Johnson on the job. Roosevelt in 1943 with the idea to seal the boxes with a fabric tape which she had tested. Stoudt was worried that problems with ammunition box seals could cost soldiers precious time in battle, so she wrote to President Franklin D. The ultimate wide-scale adoption of duck tape, today generally referred to as duct tape, came from Vesta Stoudt. Neither of these inventions was based on cloth tape. This tape was widely used beginning in the Great Depression to repair household items. In 1930, Drew developed a transparent cellophane-based tape, dubbed Scotch Tape. In 1925 this became the Scotch brand masking tape. In 1923, tape pioneer Richard Gurley Drew at 3M invented masking tape, a paper-based tape with a mildly sticky adhesive intended to be temporarily used and removed rather than left in place permanently. In 1930, the magazine Popular Mechanics described how to make adhesive tape at home using plain cloth tape soaked in a heated liquid mixture of rosin and rubber from inner tubes. White adhesive tape made of cloth soaked in rubber and zinc oxide was used in hospitals to bind wounds, but other tapes such as friction tape or electrical tape could be substituted in an emergency. Glue backed or impregnated adhesive tapes of various sorts were in use by the 1910s, including rolls of cloth tape with adhesive coating one side. In 1942, Gimbel's department store offered venetian blinds that were held together with vertical strips of duck tape. In 1936, the US-based Insulated Power Cables Engineers Association specified a wrapping of duck tape as one of many methods used to protect rubber-insulated power cables. In the 1910s, certain boots and shoes used canvas duck fabric for the upper or for the insole, and duck tape was sometimes sewn in for reinforcement. For instance, in 1902, steel cables supporting the Manhattan Bridge were first covered in linseed oil then wrapped in duck tape before being laid in place. The first material called "duck tape" was long strips of plain non-adhesive cotton duck cloth used in making shoes stronger, for decoration on clothing, and for wrapping steel cables or electrical conductors to protect them from corrosion or wear. History Wheel fender extension to keep down lunar dust improvised using duct tape during the Apollo 17 mission "Duck tape" is recorded in the Oxford English Dictionary as having been in use since 1899 and "duct tape" (described as "perhaps an alteration of earlier duck tape") since 1965. This tape resisted water and was used to seal some ammunition cases during that period. It is often confused with gaffer tape (which is designed to be non-reflective and cleanly removed, unlike duct tape).ĭuring World War II, Revolite (then a division of Johnson & Johnson) developed an adhesive tape made from a rubber-based adhesive applied to a durable duck cloth backing. A variation is heat-resistant foil tape useful for sealing heating and cooling ducts, produced because the adhesive on standard duct tape fails and the synthetic fabric reinforcement mesh deteriorates when used on heating ducts.ĭuct tape is generally silvery gray in color, but also available in other colors and printed designs, from whimsical yellow ducks, college logos to practical camouflage patterns. There are a variety of constructions using different backings and adhesives, and the term 'duct tape' has been genericized to refer to different cloth tapes with differing purposes. Powdered aluminum pigment gives traditional duct tape its silvery gray colorĭuct tape (also called duck tape, from the cotton duck cloth it was originally made of) is cloth- or scrim-backed pressure-sensitive tape, often coated with polyethylene. The wonderful thing about it is that you can do so many things during a game. The game became popular due to its high complexity and freedom. The year was one of the most successful for the game, adding hundreds of thousands of players to its count and boosting its popularity. Besides it being free-to-play (for the most part paying up adds some perks, but nothing too drastic) as one of the biggest things that held the game together in more recent years, we can give its 2011 as an example. Thus, we can only tell you about its major moments that added to its ever growing popularity. An exact date, however, is basically impossible to pinpoint as its player count has been on a rise for years. When did EVE Online get popular ? Well, even though it became free-to-play in 2016, it wasn’t then-that moment only contributed to its success. In this section, we’ll cover all the basics-how come that it’s still popular, its history and record-breaking moments. If you’ve never heard of EVE, you’re in the right place.

![]() ![]() So other than these two issues, the park itself is pretty good and we did enjoy that part. Every time we stood in line we chatted with others complaining about the same thing. That in no way possible, makes any sense. This is an entire large park, and there is one male and one female bathroom for the entire park, with 3 stalls each. We made do with a pretzel and 2 hotdogs for a family of 4, because that is literally all there was. We just wanted a couple hot dogs for ourselves and 2 kids, and there wasn't enough. This place is very seriously not set up for even a simple lunch. For one thing, do not plan on eating here. ![]() However a few things left us less than thrilled. Driving through and feeding the animals is super fun (prepare for a car wash later!). Definitely a good, if small, variety of animals. This a great place for families, a nice break from the action at Cedar Point, great experience to ground children in what is real. The parking lot was full, but the place did not feel too crowded, and it was obvious that people were enjoying themselves. The animal programs were a nice addition, and there are ample opportunities to feed and interact with various animals based on your interest level. My son fell on the playground, the staff made sure he was OK and gave him a treat that made his day. The risk is real! If there were any way to ride through the drive through in a bus or another vehicle, even at an additional cost, it would be a great addition for the park.Īgain, overall, a great experience. In our case, we had minor scratches that pretty much buffed out, but we drove a van that is already imperfect, We saw some people dealing with scratches in the parking lot. With all due respect, holding your cup as far from the vehicle as you can will not keep horned animals from scratching your car. ![]() The Drive Thru is a great opportunity to get up close and personal with the animals as well, however, it is strongly suggested that you take seriously the chance that your vehicle will be scratched - in spite of whatever you may do. Great photo opp and memorable experience! It was very similar to a Butterfly House, where the butterflies land on you, but with colorful birds instead! We spent over an hour there and the kids would have stayed much longer if we had the time. The highlight of the trip for us was the Aviary Adventure, with the budgies / small parakeets. For one, they had a significant "family" of animatronic dinosaurs which were quite a spectacle, and no doubt a significant investment for the park. It was better this time than we remembered the previous time. This was our 2nd time hear, the first being about 10 years ago. We enjoyed the park so much that we went again the next day and ended up getting a season pass and went again the next day before we headed home. And the kangaroo do not eat the food offered so they allow you to feed something else twice, which I fed the tortoises twice- it was so much fun. My only complaint is that the porcupine are only fed at certain times and the brochures have the wrong times so we missed that. Then there was the petting zoo park which for $15 you could feed the tortoises, porcupine, bunnies, birds and kangaroos. They did have someone towards the end that sold more of cups of carrots, which we definitely bought. The food goes fast! Save some lettuce for the giraffes at the end. You collect the food at the entrance of the actual park. We also bought the single food package for $15 that comes with 1 cup of carrots, 1 cup of lettuce and 1 cup of feed. It was a good deal- it’s $20 per person and it comes with 1 cup of feed. We had a buy one get one free coupon that was in a coupon book purchased from a school fundraiser. There was little toll booth that you purchased your tickets at.
